Current governor vacancies and training
We want to recruit individuals who are passionate about the school’s vision and values, share its ethos and are willing to dedicate the time to be a critical friend who can help us achieve our goals as a school working within the Great Learners Trust.
We currently have a vacancy for:
1 Parent Governor
3 Community Governors
(Please note that the Local Governing Board can appoint co-opted governors for up to a year with a view to appointing them as full community governors in due course. We currently have 3 co-opted governors who have been appointed with this in mind.)
The parent/carer body will be asked in September to nominate candidates for the parent governor vacancy and an election will be held if necessary. In the meantime, if you are interested and wish to consider nominating yourself please do contact Helen Bush, Chair of the Local Governing Board, to discuss the role.
Community governors (and co-opted governors) are appointed by the local governing board because they have the skills required to contribute to the effective governance and success of the school. The local governing board can appoint community governors and co-opted governors to fill skills gaps on the governing board. Both types of governor may be parents of children registered at the school or members of the wider community.
If you are interested in finding out more about these positions please read the role description provided below and contact Helen Bush, Chair of Governors, via the email email@example.com or contact Helen via the school office by calling 01296 487973.
