Year 5 Homework

You can bring your homework in or upload it to seesaw. We can't wait to see all of the fab work you produce and Mr Hillier is keen for you to come and show your extended homework pieces too!

Year 5 Homework

Reading

  • Children are expected to read at home at least three times per week.
  • There are books that they can take home from school or they can read one of their own from home.
  • This should be recorded in their reading records for staff to check every Monday morning.

Spellings

  • Spellings will be given out each Friday and there will be an informal quiz on Purple Mash the following Friday to assess the children.  We will frequently revisit these.
  • Lists will also be uploaded to Seesaw and will be a focus in our English lessons.
  • A list of common spellings will be sent home for you to keep as a reference. Further information about this will be provided when the lists go home.
  •

Maths

  • 15 minutes will be set on times tables rockstars every week
  • Every second week the children will have a printed maths sheet to complete based on previous learning.

Rewards and Recognitions

School Bank Purple Pounds will be awarded for all pieces of homework that are completed and headteacher awards will be given to those children who go above expectations.
