We want to recruit individuals who are passionate about the school’s vision and values, share its ethos and are willing to dedicate the time to be a critical friend who can help us achieve our goals as a school.
We currently have the following vacancies:
Partnership governors are appointed by the governing body from the local community following nominations by parents or other relevant members of the local community. Partnership governors bring their perspective to the governing body as a member of the local community. There are some restrictions on who is eligible to serve in this category: parents of pupils at the school, anyone eligible to be a staff governor, elected members of the local authority, employees of the LA in posts connected with education functions or registered pupils, are not eligible for appointment as a partnership governor.
Co-opted governors are appointed by the governing body because they have the skills required to contribute to the effective governance and success of the school. The governing body can appoint co-opted governors to fill skills gaps on the governing body. Co-opted governors may be parents of children registered at the school.
Parent governors are usually parents of children registered at the school nominated and elected to join the governing body by parents. If only one parent stands for election (for the one vacancy) the governing body may appoint a parent governor. Parent governors do not ‘represent’ parents but rather bring a parental perspective to the governing body.
