Current governor vacancies and training

We want to recruit individuals who are passionate about the school’s vision and values, share its ethos and are willing to dedicate the time to be a critical friend who can help us achieve our goals as a school.

We currently have the following vacancies:

  • 3 co-opted governors (see note below)
  • 2 partnership governors

(Please note that the Governing Board has appointed two associate members for up to a year with a view to appointing them as full co-opted governors in due course.  However, should these appointments be made there remains a vacancy for 1 co-opted governor.)

Co-opted governors are appointed by the governing body because they have the skills required to contribute to the effective governance and success of the school.  The governing body can appoint co-opted governors to fill skills gaps on the governing body.  Co-opted governors may be parents of children registered at the school.

Partnership governors are appointed by the governing body from the local community following nominations by parents or other relevant members of the local community.   Partnership governors bring their perspective to the governing body as a member of the local community.  There are some restrictions on who is eligible to serve in this category: parents of pupils at the school, anyone eligible to be a staff governor, elected members of the local authority, employees of the LA in posts connected with education functions or registered pupils, are not eligible for appointment as a partnership governor

If you are interested in finding out more about this position please read the role description provided below or contact Helen Bush, Chair of Governors, via the email governors@bedgrovejunior.bucks.sch.uk or contact Helen via the school office by calling 01296 487973.

Please may we remind all parents/carers that our consultation on academisation remains open and we welcome any views, questions or concerns via the governor email address or school office. Thank you
