PTA & Fundraising
Can you help?
Did you know that every parent at the school is automatically part of the PTA?
If you are interested in joining the PTA in a more active role, there is no time pressure at all. You can be as involved as you wish from helping on odd event days to helping at one of our bigger annual events. Meetings are held each term and tend to be on Tuesday evenings. If you cannot make the meetings you can still be involved by receiving the Minutes of the meeting.
The PTA can be contacted via pta@bjsglt.co.uk or via our Facebook page 'BedgroveJuniorSchoolPTA'.
Fundraising & Supporting Our School
As we try to adapt to new ways of working across the world, we cannot deny that COVID19 continues to affect us in many different ways. As a school we have always been fortunate to be able to supplement our sparse school budget with additional income from well attended Spice Club, after school activity clubs and hiring out the school premises externally. Whilst we have been able to re-start some of these areas we still know that COVID is going to have a significant and continued impact on our school budget - probably in the region of about £35,000 this year, but obviously this could be a lot worse if schools were forced to close again.
Online Shopping through EasyFundraising
Easyfundraising is an entirely free service that allows people to shop directly at their favourite online store via the links on the easyfundraising.org.uk website and raise a donation for our school once a purchase is made. Donations can be up to 15% of the value of your purchase, depending on the retailer and the item purchased.
If you use the link below to sign up, once you have raised £5 as a supporter, we will also receive a £5 bonus donation through the ‘Refer-a-Friend’ offer.

Corporate Donations and Match Funding
We have been incredibly lucky to receive a donation of £20,000 towards our IT equipment from a company that one of our new Year 3 parents works for; if you work for or are involved with any organisation who may be able to offer donations or match funding please do contact me via our school office.
PTA Fundraising
We have a small but extremely committed PTA who work tirelessly to raise much needed additional funds for our school. Whilst obviously many of the events that they usually arrange won’t be able to take place this term, they are working to arrange other innovative way to raise money.
If you are interested in joining the PTA, or even just have a fundraising idea that you think they may be interested in, please contact the Chair, Kerry King via PTA@bjsglt.co.uk
PTA Raffles
Each year the PTA try to organise a raffle and are always appealing to local companies who may be able to provide prizes. Previously we have been lucky enough to be donated Waterside Theatre tickets, beauty treatments and restaurant vouchers. If you are able to donate anything, or know of a local company who would like to support the school, please get in touch. This is always a great fund raiser for the school.
School Projects
We are in the process of renovating and redesigning the school library for the benefit of all the children. The PTA have pledged £5000 towards the replenishment of books for the children to use and encourage them to know that reading is an enjoyable pastime.
We also have a number of school projects that we have had to postpone due to lack of funding, whilst you may not be able to donate financially, we know that we have a wealth of skills and experience within our parent/carer community which are equally as valuable to us as a monetary donation. If you or your company are willing to assist us with any of the following please do get in touch:
- Creation of a school pond – for outdoor Science lessons
- Gardening Club - Wooden planters to grow vegetables in
Thank you for your continued support at this difficult time, we are very grateful to have such a supportive and generous parent community.
