Through a diverse and exciting curriculum, Bedgrove Junior School pupils will develop skills in English and Mathematics as well as a lifelong love of learning. With the introduction of the new primary curriculum in September 2014, we have worked hard to develop a curriculum which is dynamic, broad, balanced and innovative to ensure that the children enjoy a practical, fun, challenging learning experience that will prepare them for life in 21st Century Britain. Our aim is for children to be able to enjoy a range of sporting activities, have the opportunity to learn new musical instruments as well as taking advantage of our fantastic facilities, including the sports field, kitchen, refurbished library, well-resourced music room, iPads, kindles and vast outdoor space.
The curriculum at Bedgrove Junior School aims to:
Inspire children to develop a love of reading.
Embed skills to prepare children for further learning and productive adulthood.
Take learning beyond the classroom.
Develop children to become reflective learners who have a sense of responsibility for their own learning and development.
Build confidence and motivation within our children.
Grow children who understand the importance of perseverance, resilience and tolerance.
Enable children to use their acquired skills and knowledge to observe, question and think.
Learn to value others, their views, cultures and beliefs.
Prepare children for life in modern Britain
